All Fours Miranda July - sexy freaky funny weird, this book is For Me 
Pure Colour Shelia Heti  - this was my first shelia heti and i should read more of her this year. i enjoyed this book, i liked its exploration of grief, love, nature, etc. reading about Dad Loss makes me feel closer to my dad, whose dad died before i was born.
The Garden of Eden Ernest Hemmingway - did you guys know hemingway wrote a freak novel? i didn't, until i was in a freak situation where it was recommended to me. basically this book is about a novelist whose wife decides she wants to get the same haircut as him and have freaky sex and also involve an additional woman. it's interesting to hear hemmingway write about gender. the characters are constantly drinking and swimming naked in the south of france. which sounds nice  
Autobiography of Red Anne Carson  - i love you anne carson
Big Swiss Jen Beagin - i really liked this book! upstate ny representation
Death Valley Melissa Broder - another book about Dad Loss, in a way. i lent this book to my mom. it's about a woman whose dad is dying in the hospital. she takes a trip to death valley in order to try and finish her novel. my mom didn't like it because she said the main character was "woe is me" ??? i liked it because i love melissa broder and death valley.
Milkfed Melissa Broder - the people on goodreads cannot handle such detailed descriptions of eating pussy. but i can 
Intermezzo Sally Rooney - i'm sorrryyyyy sally she just isn't my favorite. 
One Hundred Demons Lynda Barry - reread for me, i love lynda barry. this book is beautiful 
I Who Have Never Known Men Jacqueline Harpmen - it felt like everyone was reading this book last year, so i was eager to see what was up. i wish i had liked it more! maybe i would have gotten more out of it if i read it with others, but mostly i found it endlessly depressing and even though it's quite short, i wanted it to end. 
Paul Takes the Form of a Mortal Girl Andrea Lawlor - the three gay cities are iowa city, provincetown mass, and SF. i enjoyed this book and was happy to be reminded of all the queer theory i studied in college. recommend! 
Sula Toni Morrison - this was a reread for me and it was so amazing i loved it no one can write a sentence like toni morrison like ACTUALLY

The Pisces Melissa Broder - probably my least favorite of the broder i read but i still enjoyed it

Asymmetry Lisa Halliday - this really fell flat for me idk.
The Night Watchman Louise Erdich - i read like 350 pages of this book. it's good but a little uneven i think. i do want to finish it 
Revenge of the Scapegoat Caren Beilin  - i thought this was so good but my family problems were dialing up so i needed space from it. tonally it's very similar to banal nightmare, a book everyone seems to hate but me. i yearn for the next banal nightmare. i do want to finish this book, it's freaky and also super smart. deleuze mentioned.
The Great Gatsby -  i'll find some time this summer to breeze through this fully ... i always think of it in the summertime in NYC, because there's some line about how the heat makes everyone in the city crazy
